Re: mystery trawler - semi scratch 1:33 scale

hello Bob.......it's been a while! my last post is a little misleading......it's not totally finished. I have a few more things I want to add to the fore deck, and the stern deck needs to be finished off.........then the model will be finished. I have so many projects going, that some of them have g...

Re: Panart: San Felipe 1:75 Scale Build Log

being honest Donnie.......I don't share your view of this project so far........I'd kill for a hull that looks like that! I've meet no one yet that can build with 100% accuracy.......you meet 'em......send 'em my way ;-) when this ship is built and rigged, you will see how minor some of these compla...

Re: A.L. Marina II Continuation

catching up with the rest of your log, I noticed you were looking for ideas for the bow. Donnie had a fairly good thought going there.....the bow stem is what.....3/16 thick. planking would make it thicker. the way I prep the planking for the bow, is to cut at an angle for the contour and then bevel...

Re: A.L. Marina II Continuation

I've done the Mary Ann and the Cux 87.....billing's kits, and they have the same stern design. they were a pain to plank ;-) you've done something in the idea of a herringbone design......ties them in quite well. the last picture is interesting......one would think a stealer, but by trimming out pla...

Re: mystery trawler - semi scratch 1:33 scale

the date stamp on your post Zoltan, sadly betrays how long it's been since I've been in here. she's not a real ship........when I started to build the Syborn, I didn't have a name for her......it took a while to think of one. I'm not even sure there is a ship out there that is outfitted like her.......
