HMS Enterprise 1774 POF 1:48.

To use Tyler terminology:
“You owned this”
“Awesome job”
“True Story”
“Ditto”
:D

But an additional word for the finger - “Yikes” and “you owned this” definitely still applies ROTF.
Good morning Roger. Thank you kindly. I see you have mastered “Grant speak” ;) . I’m having a pause on cutting these ports and will find something else to have a go with. Cheers Grant

Just spent a couple of days enjoying your build. You have heard all the superlatives from folks who know what they are talking about. They understood the hours you put into fitting all the pieces together. I don’t build sailing ships but I know craftsmanship when I see it. Well done!

Good morning from a rainy Cape Town.

Smiling away with my new knee……probably still high on aesthetic ROTF . I had a full knee replacement yesterday and am doing pretty good. That will change when the nerve blocker wears off…..Eish.

As I won’t be doing too much playing on my Enterprise for a while I thought I would post what I have done up to now.

I am changing the kit completely. (No surprise thereROTF) but I cannot get much structural accuracy into the kit with just modifications by virtue of it design so the structure remains.
I do want to have a lot of this showing though so :
I’m not going to plank the deck, bulkwarks etc according to the kit, which basically covers everything, but going for a Adhoc haphazardly open look. I know this may end up like a pigs breakfast but I going for itRedface.

Here is my progress: not all glued in and no scraping or cutting done- a true WIP.

So….you get the picture for what I’m going to do. While I’m not using the kit instructions I am still referencing Goodwin and a fair degree of accuracy will be captured, haphazardly ROTF
Cheers Grant
PS: I’m not overjoyed with my hooked scarf joints are on the spirektling, so some effort required here.

Good morning Grant,

well you do things? That doesn't look nice with your finger!
But the main thing is that it stayed on. Cuts like that are always a pain, especially as they always take longer to heal on the fingers. Get some rest and I'll be very happy when you're feeling better again and you can satisfy our addiction to your great pictures again.

Stay healthy my friend and get well soon! ThumbsupThumbsup
Best regards

Hey Grant,

that speaks for a retread! Then you're in the shipyard too!
New knee ? So wear and tear or accident? Welcome to the club, I also have a right knee replacement and it was a very good decision as I could barely walk!!!

I wish you a speedy recovery and that you get back on your feet quickly.

Best regards
Günther

Hey Grant !
I hope you can get back up on your feet real soon ! I had a friend that had a knee replaced and he was in his 70s. It was amazing how quick they had him walking and how well it worked!

I love your idea of leaving small areas of the planking off to show bits of the internal structure! That spot around the gunport looks terrific and shows off a part of the structure of the ship that is not often seen by non-builders !

Wishing you a speedy recovery !

Jeff

I wish you a good and prosperous recovery of you knee, Grant. And your finger …….
And about your ‘kit bashing’: no problem at all for me. Now it’s becoming a unique example.
Regards, Peter

HI Grant! Great to see you wearing a brand new deeply bashed and upgraded part... . Your Enterprize's is coming along nicely. Love the way you are presenting that gunport! Cheers!

Grant,

I hope the doctors were as accurate and painstakingly careful in the rebuild of you knee as you have been with this kit! If so, you'll be up and walking in a few days.

Your pictures and work are wonderful! The scarf joints look superb. The curve of the planking and the open spaces will make a stunning presentation! Love the way you did that cannon port, so the structure can be clearly observed!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful work and praying for a speedy recovery (we were all worried when we saw you in a hospital bed, that somehow the finger had major complications). Glad it was a planned surgery!

True story!

The Admiral has had both of hers replaced. 44 years on the floor teaching kindergarten will do that to a person.

Do all the exercises they give you and you'll be good as new in no time. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery! Beer
