HMS Enterprise 1774 POF 1:48.

Good morning. I’m going to have to increase my SOS time as there is plenty activity here at the moment- very cool.

We are baby sitting my “grand puppy” for a while while Ashtyn and Micheal are on holiday in Mozambique.

As always nothing is complete and all dry fitted. I just need to show you guys work is continuing.
Cheers Grant
Here we know ‘baby sitting’, but ‘puppy-sitting’ laying in bed ….. one if the two is looking very relaxed, Grant.
Oooo …. and the progress on the ship is looking very nice.
Regards, Peter

Grant, Everything looks exceptional. The delicate .5mm treenailing looks fantastic and who can resist a good puppy shot!

Keep the updates coming, as your build progresses!
Hi Grant, I seem to have sorted out the notification issue, this post arrived OK. To solve I "unfollowed" then went to your log and clicked "follow" again. That seems to have resaved the notifcation setting properly. I have done the same for all the builds I am following, so hopefully everything is reset now.

Dom
Dom, I unfollow/refollow all the logs I watch whenever a new post pops. If I don't, they somehow get dropped. Frustrating, especially if someone doesn't post for a while...then I usually lose their log, unless I search new posts.

Oh boy, you and your grand-pup strike a very cosy picture, Grant! I'm sure he/she doesn't mind at all spending some time with grandpa. The cannons look superb - I know I have said it before, but this ship just radiates warmth through the wood-finish you have selected. Stunning, my friend!
Good evening Heinrich. He is a terror. Thank you kindly Sir. Cheers Grant

Thank you very much indeed Brad.

I’m reading back a few pages this morning to “catch up”, which seems to be one of my common phrases lately :). Always impressive and a lot of fun following your Enterprise build Grant.
Good evening Roger. Thank you kindly. I am really enjoying playing with this build. Been a lot of fun so far. Always good to hear from you. Cheers Grant

Great image - you both seem much too relaxed:cool:

Our son will be bringing our grand dog over as well. They live in Berkeley - he'll be away so we are the designated dog hotel.
The beach helps Porkchop get through his mornings

Cheers,

Good morning John. It is the second time I see a South African flag as your location. That beach with Porkchop looks like Melkbosstrand as well. Are you secretly visiting ROTF . Cheer Grant

Good morning gentlemen.
Ricochet Rabbit has been very active with this build.

My original waterways just didn’t work for me. I must have “cocked up” somewhere. I also did not make a spirketling plank. This redo would be impossible now so I made “fake” waterway and spirketling.

I had to cut some more cherry from my “log” for the spirketling down to 1mm thin- this was entertaining ROTF. The scale is obviously out on the spirketling plank (too narrow by a mm) however it looks way better.

Half way through the port side.
I did scrape a shape into the waterway but this doesn’t come out in the photos. In this ultra close up we can see it :

That's a great dog to see. And he already knows who to please.
Hello Peter and Stephan. Apologies I missed these posts. He can be cute however I had to leave him home alone this morning and he decided to get me back- shredded one of my clips and some 220 sand paper ROTF ROTF - note to self : don’t leave anything on shipyard floor. Cheers Grant

note to self : don’t leave anything on shipyard floor
A very, very, very long time ago, when I was still a 14-year-old teenager, I had a Collie. You know, a Lassie-type dog. Very well-behaved, very obedient, and never chewed anything up. Until one Sunday morning, when I heard him sneaking upstairs. I was still in bed—that’s what teenagers do at that age. I heard something in my mom’s bedroom, but Rocco—that was his name, not Lassie—didn’t react and went back down the stairs.
Until, fifteen minutes later, I heard a lot of screaming, and a moment later, Rocco was lying on my bed with his tail between his legs. I thought, I’d better go see what’s going on. Well, he’d stolen the false teeth from my mom’s nightstand and had tried to make them fit him.
I shouldn't have said anything and should have just yelled at the dog too. But I didn't do that. So, in the end, it was my fault. Because teenagers always get the blame—that was my life lesson. And I’ve remembered it, which comes in handy when there’s a teenager around. So Grant, find a teenager to blame.

Grant,

Well a bit north of yours nonetheless , and very beautiful - mine "still" on my morning jogs in Santa Monica - the luck of destiny...PS and no Great Whites in my neighborhood.
PS2: Cape Town still on my list of "to go to places"......

PS3: Thinking of changing my two current passports - USA & French but, your consulate told me that I need Original and copies of my South African ID/Birth Certificate. So in my next life....

Cheers my friend....

It does seem to be a problem, so I will do the same on regular basis. I have searched for some builds that I thought had entered the Doldrums only to find that they were still very active, frustrating as you say!

Good morning Dom. True story. As you know how these builds go…..plenty work nothing to show….. at times. This build is challenging for me however I’m having the most fun. Cheers Grant

Good morning everyone. I thought I had better give you guys at least one (well eight) finished product.

I finished eight cannon.
IMG_8800.jpegIMG_8797.jpegIMG_8796.jpeg

Some more WIP:
I also made the chain pump wheel- when I was putting this together I thought it looks more like a hamster wheel with some tiny penis’s along the top. ROTF . Anyway Grants scratch version of a Closed and open chain pump (I had a blast Explosionmaking these- fun):

Plenty more treenails were also done however I won’t bore you guys with more pics.
Cheers Grant

A nice nailing pattern on the pump, Grant.
And some nice ‘almost finished’ guns …… waiting for the rigging. ;)
