a new era in ship model building

Nevertheless I use also very much the web to get information for a certain task or subject.
The biggest problem with the web is the massive mass of information, and you have to know about the quality of the resource.
It is taking a lot of time, to find the quality information and sorting out the wrong information getting also in the web.

forums are notorious for misinformation because information is copied and repeated but so are articles in journals and magazines. I suppose you can require members to post their source of information in a post but this being a hobby and not an academic group that might be going one step over the line.

right now I have been searching for information on a Paixhan cannon and so far found very little on line or in any publication. Research can be very frustrating. This type of cannon was the fore runner of the shell gun and was soon replaced by the Dahlgren cannon

It was on the BBC news this evening that sales of printed books in the UK have begun to soar again, with sales of e-books decreasing! Probably because authors are no longer dependant on publishers to accept their manuscripts. If a publisher does accept something, it usually takes a couple of years before it appears in print and the author gets a mere pittance in payment. These modern printing firms will print the books within 10 to 14 days and deliver them to the author, all included in the price. The quality is also excellent.
