Hey everyone, this is the 2nd forum I've found for ship modeling. I've been browsing a lot of sites and watching a bunch of YouTube videos. I'll be ordering my first model tomorrow. Either the Bluenose or Mayflower from model shipways. Rob

Hello Rob and welcome to this site! I am also fairly new to modeling but finishing my 1st wooden kit shortly. Without sites such as this one, I would certainly have gone down the 'wrong path' far more times than I did. LOL There are some very talented modelers in here that are always willing to share a positive comment or offer help when needed. Good adventures on which ever model you chose.

DocBlake's advice on finding a practicum can be a great help. The Bluenose kit offers a free PDF practicum online and there are many articles and builds that you can find.

Zoltan - many thanks for posting that link to the book on planking! I ordered mine on Ebay. Cheers!
