Today received 2 volumes of the book plank on frame models from harold a underhill.
The books are dealing with the full building of planks on frame models with an example of an 19th century bark. Lots of tips and tricks in this 1960s book. As I read it I will post a more detailed review.
The books were posted by the ship model conservator of the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum Ab Hoving as a must read.

I don't have these books so Hand them over lol JK anything by Mr. Underhill pertaining to model ships is a must read. So I'll be looking for this set.

You can find 2nd hand copies of these books by searching www.bookfinder.com Leon was a small brigantine, and it was those two books that started me off into serious model shipbuilding. It had no guns, no figurehead and very little fancy work, so it may not appeal to most of you, but it is a most attractive little ship.

I borrowed those books many years ago from the library, but copied all the drawings before returning them again. I have Vol. 1 as pdf, but can't remember where I got it from
