Did you Purchased something shortly ago?
Did you get something new for your workshop?

The idea behind this topic (and I know it is not realy a new idea) is to show the members anything new, what you purchased or got somehow and which could be of some interest to some other member(s).

So if you got f.e. any
new tools (electric or manual), a kit, any material, fittings, books, planset or whatsoever ........
everything could be of some interest for somebody......
than please make a short post in this topic / thread

best would be with some photos and maybe if interesting where did you buy or ordered it, so also if available the experience with the new stuff and/or also with the seller

Yesterday I received a parcel from company MassivHolzWerkstatt Horschig
I ordered some cherry which needed for my La Salamandre

Well and safe packed, high quality of wood without any knots etc., very similiar colour and grain and very correct size/measures
(2mm thickness ordered and between 1,97 and 2,02mm).
Good value for money! I am very happy with the quality and the service (between order and delivery was only 5 days)

They deliver also international, unfortunately the web-page is in german, but if you want to try this timbershop, I can assist....

Do you know this situation also?

Yesterday I went out in order to buy only a drill bit with 1,8 mm......I needed nothing more (I thought)

At the end I had a bill of 130 Euro of things which I need off course ;)o_O;) , it is more to fill the stock

Yesterday I received some samples of ropes from company "Modellbau Takelgarn"

link to english web-page here: https://www.rigging-ropes.com/

Beautiful material on the first view (and touch) ...... I will report more in detail asap

PS: The big advantage with rope-material is the fact, that due to the light weight the postage costs, also international are very low ! :)

This is so very nice. Swiss Pear is my usual choice and I have a love of Lemon too, but the colour of this looks very nice. A real lovely example.

I usually buy mine too but would like to buy a ropewalk and make my own. I wonder if its economical.

Tool that arrived yesterday.

Thought this tool would be great for sanding my hull before the final sealing. BUT at 2in in diameter it’s a mite too large. I do like the Velcro type attachment and the choice of grits.
I purchased these similar ones. 25mm wide and perfect for sanding models and also tricky hard to get areas. Comes with various grit sizes.

G'day all
I went into our local Aldi last Sunday to get some paper towels. I came out with a mitre saw work bench for only $50.

As you can see it fits my compound mitre saw perfectly. The quality is absolutely perfect. Very stable, strong and easy to fold away.
The cheapest stand that I have seen from our local Bunnings is an AEG for $170. The quality for the AEG is no where near the same standard as mine and it's over 3 times the price.
Happymodeling to all.

Zolly,
Please give us a review of that saw after it gets some use. I tried cheap Craftsman scroll saw but could only cut a crooked line with it. There must be some out there that actually are usable; lot's of folks make nice desk and mailbox decorations with them.

G'day mate
I've got a Ryobi scroll saw and it's great. The results that I'm getting looks like it almost was cut on a table saw.
The secret is to go slow and at median speed with a very tight blade. And the top foot rest helps a lot.
Here is a photo of it.

This is a cheap version compared to others.

I have the Dremel Moto Saw, it is my favorite cutting tool use it constatly, and have never broken a blade, for thicker pieces like on my Blanford, 1/4 in Natural Pear, I use my large scroll saw also a Dremel got it about 15 years ago, it also is a GREAT MACHINE, once you get used to the Moto Saw you will be happy with it.
