As friends' invitation and I promised, this is a retro build log of Le Requin 1750, this work was done so many years ago, and I moved so many places, some photos were lost in my memory stick. A little bit about this kit, it is designed and manufactured by Shicheng model (SC model), and I think it is base on the drawing set of Jean Boudriot and Hubert Berti, this kit accurately described the original plan, the beautiful CNC caving and rigging material are the best. Please check out my other thread to explore this amazing ship. ZHL was mentioned as a manufacturer on some thread, I believe there is a little bit confusion cuz many modelers buy model kits from him, ZHL is actually a retailer. the 1:48 Le Requin kit is made by Shicheng model, I visited Cheng Li who is the owner and master designer of Shicheng model at Hangzhou almost 9 years ago, he is a smart guy, a genius of modelling design, I almost have all of his products. Probably will take the rest of my life to finish all the kits, sorry went too far, I will start to post the build log, here we go!

Thanks for showing. I am aware there another Chinese kit of La Requin and very similar made by LuHaiQin. Can you tell me if there are any differences?

The Requin is realy looking like a very good POF kit, and you did a very good work with this kit.
Some questions I have when I am looking at your photos:
1) The quality of timber is looking good....which kind of wood are the frames made? and is the quality of the kit in general good to very good?
2) On the photo of the stern we can see the assembling of fashion pieces......Does the supplier changed here the timber source? The fashion pieces are somehow red, like swiss pear...
3) You have two photos in which we can see the interiour of the cabins, but here it is a different jig. It is looking like, that you had to change the jig and make a scratch one? What was the problem with the original one?
I am looking forward to see much more photos of your "Retro Building log"........ Many thanks in advance

Amazing timber sets, very nice work on those frames, I like the unique shape of this vessel.

Those are really good questions, I asked Shicheng model about the timber, the frame are made from pear, but the standard kit using cherry, and the fashion pieces are made from cherry as well, the amazing thing is that the fashion pieces were made by CNC, very smart eh, the cabin interior was a scratch one, just adding a little bit flavor.

Very accurate work. It is looking realy great.
And seems, that the laser cutted parts of the kit are fitting very good.
I like your deck planking work very much. Especialy the nailing looks great. Did you use steel nails or which kind? With nail heads?
Thanks in advance

I'm glad you like the deck planking work, thank you, I used brass wire to make nailing.

I agree with Gary completely.
It is a very interesting kit and with the help of some documentation, like the drawings from ancre it can result in a beautiful model -> great work

BTW: you mentione din one of your first posts , that you are working in moment on a 1/350 Udaloy class destroyer Admiral Panteleyev, I guess it is the Trumpeter kit....
Looking at your skills at this wooden kit we would be happy to see your actual work in a new thread and building log of this model....we are looking forward to see .....
