I have always wanted to build what I call a kind of "folk art" piece using nothing but natural materials like wood and sand and build it using hand tools only in a diorama type piece. I build my stuff mostly for kids so I thought a pirate theme would be in order. I chose a 1/72 scale. I have used a lot of artistic license in this "just for fun" project and I hope that you guys will enjoy something a little different too. Cheers! John.

Sorry, I just realized that this is a ship from kits log. I will re-post it over in the scratch built over in the scratch built section.
I propose, that you restart completely new in the correct Scratch area - and afterwards I will delete this topic here

Being a pirate ship of unknown origin I decided to design the bow a little bit differently. Pirate captains were notoriously good to their crew for fear they would leave the ship so I decided to remove a few guns at the bow and replace them with a crew sleeping quarters and the gun ports with holes for better ventilation. This meant that on a rotating basis some of the crew would be able to escape the conditions below if only for a short while.
This is what is great about this kind of build you can let your imagination run wild.
