Oliver Cromwell, POF ,Scale 1:48 by Lawrence [COMPLETED BUILD]

G'day Lawrence, enjoy your holidays and I hope you have plenty of time to relax and rejuvenate,
Best regards John
Hello John, thanks for your good wishes. We lucked out on a pontoon boat the first week as they were all rented and the second week it was just to cold to be out there on the water, will have to book earlier next year. Yes we did enjoy our selves, lots of R & R, also nice to get away from the TV for a couple of weeks. Still sour from these cursive Shingles but the pain is slowly going away.
Regards Lawrence

Hello Ship Mates, well I have finally gotten over most of my pain from my bout with the Shingles. It has been a long and very painful month. I do feel a bit better today and have attached the cannons to the Focal and Quarter Deck. We have also attached the Breaching cables to these guns. Now we must tackle the the tackle gear for these Cannons.

Hello Ship Mates, Work continues in my Old Ship Yard but at a very slow pace these days as I am still feeling the effects of that case of Shingles that I got last June. Believe it or not but I am still in pain making progress very difficult. I have built and installed the Gun Tackles to pull out these canons on the Focal and the Quarter Decks . I think that I will build the pull back Tackles as there is a bit of room on these decks to do so.

Hello Ship Mates, Still do not have a hole lot of get up and go these days but it is slowly improving. The little fellows and I have completed and installing the pull back tackle for the upper deck cannons. Now we must find a way to make the Anchor Cables on deck look a bit realistic, any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. We feel that this task must be tackled before we start on the ships masts.

I think they are just fine, I don't like weathering . This is a magnificent model, not a miniaturized ship.

Hello Ship Mates, I have some very exciting news and that my Admiral has just said that she is giving me the POF Bluenose kit manufactured b YuanQing and sold trough Heinrich both from China.
I have been wondering what my next build would be and my Admiral solved this problem for me Thanks Bernadette.

Hello Ship Mates, I have managed a bit more on my Oliver Cromwell, between loosing a full summer due to my case of Shingles and falling far behind on my house hold duties, Got my garden tractor switched over from a lawnmower to a snow blower this last week also chopped up[ the leaves before doing so, now I am caught up and will have more time to work in the Old Ship Yard.
The little fellows and I have built and installed the three mast top platforms supports, added the lower mast reinforcements, and also added the rings around the mast I believe they are called wooldings but then I may be wrong. This will be my start to building the shrouds as the mast platforms are only dry fitted at this time

Happy to hear you are feeling better Lawrence. We are much the same in that winter is coming which means a reprieve from our outside chores, and no longer having to post at msw. Both these things will give us both more time to build! :p ;)
Anyways your ship is looking great! My next build, the HMS Ontario, has the same mast tops and being that yours look so incredible I may just hire you to make mine.
Take Care and have a Great Day

Hello Don, I thank you very much for your visit to my build log on the little ship the Oliver Cromwell. Yes the msw is just a loss these days thanks to you know who, I will not miss them and I do love the freedom that I now have. Just can not seam to get started in the Old Ship Yard these days, I believe that I am just too excited over the Bluenose Kit that I am about to order from Henrich, it sure looks like a beauty. But I must finish working on the rigging of my Oliver Cromwell before I can start the Bluenose.
Regards Lawrence
