Hi, All
I'm Bill, going to try my hand a building ship models after many years of plastic car and wargaming miniature model building. I am looking forward to gaining knowledge from all who post here, ( cause I do like to read). Thanks for letting me join this forum.

Welcome to the SOS Group Bill. What types of ships are you interested in building?
I have my eye on the Swift 1805 that Artesania latina produces, as my first build. Right now I'm doing homework (reseach) on the subject and how to do the many tasks to build it. Thinking of buying the cd/ thumbdrive from Lauck Street Shipyard on how to build it. I like the old historic ships of sail.

Welcome to SoS Bill,
Read as much as you can and if you have not already spent money on the Swift kit give consideration to a high quality beginner kit like one or more of the three boat series from Model Expo. If you are already stuck with the Swift kit, consider setting it aside for now and build the others to gain experience and learning good habits in this hobby of ours. There are a lot of build logs for these boats here at SoS. https://www.modelexpo-online.com/pr...-3-kit-combo-series-with-tools-glue-and-paint , Reading and research make these builds much more interesting and helpful for many members. When you do start the Swift, as you love to read, you can research Virginia pilot boats since there was never a Swift 1805 in real life.

Allan
