Question, I can't find any good pictures of the deck, as its a fairly recent ship would it still use wooden pegs to fasten the deck
 
There's a few pictures on the Gorch Fock website that shows how the deck is fastened down. The planks are tongue and grooved and screwed into the underlying steel structure using steel screws, counter bored and then plugged with teak plugs.
