Ted perhaps this photo will help to visualize the lay of the plates as the curve around the stern.

    Copper plates

I use a copper adhesive backed tape for the plates. If you wish you could check out my you tube channel for videos on my method of doing the ratline. Just to be clear, my you tube channel videos are only to assist ship modelers. Subscribing is not something I push. This is a link to one of...

    Layout for copper plates

There is a pattern for the plates. The size of the sections vary depending on the size of the ship. The measurement of the sections seems to be arbitrary. This book describes it pretty good. I have a couple videos on my You tube channel where I show how I apply this. @gregbaumgartner8257.

USS Constitution Blue jacket kit # 1018

Constitution's Spar deck is pretty much done. The ship's wheel will go in much later after the rigging is done. I always end up breaking it otherwise. Fighting tops still need work lower masts are done.

USS Constitution Blue jacket kit # 1018

I am building this model for a friend that got it from an Uncle that passed away in 2008. The "kit" is missing better than 2/3rd's of it parts. Nothing from the kit will be used except the hull. So, what? 90% of it will be scratch built. The stern of the solid hull was not correct so I had...
