Dry-Dock Models & Parts Dry-Dock Models & Parts Store News

Just received some blocks from Dry Dock. They are the best of the "premium" blocks that I have seen. No need for further sanding, and the holes are big enough, do not have to enlarge them for use. Keep up the good work Zoltan

    LEUDO

The new Dusek/Mamoli kits are nice and the 1:24 Leudo is no exception with nice plans and materials. The roundness of the hull makes the planking harder than one might think. I do not know if he made any major changes.

That refers to poly-vinylacetate glue. Better known as white glue or Elmer's glue-all. TiteBond is a good choice also.... I'm anxious to watch your progress. This kit is sitting on the shelf in my hobby room. Looks very nice and not too difficult (i hope).

    ZHL shipping charges.

I have had one order from Max. The amount he charged me was exactly what DHL said it would cost for that weight. Yes it will cost quite a bit to get a 5-10kg kit shipped via DHL but the shipping time before COVID was only a few days.

    People and Patience

It grinds my gears to remember the day the FCC took away my hard-earned 1st Phone ticket and replaced it with a "general radiotelephone" that never expires. They did the same thing with the ham tickets. Some of us had to pass a 20wpm Morse and written elements in front of FCC examiner...

Zolly, Please give us a review of that saw after it gets some use. I tried cheap Craftsman scroll saw but could only cut a crooked line with it. There must be some out there that actually are usable; lot's of folks make nice desk and mailbox decorations with them.

    Opinions on ZHL Misticque (KL09)

Seriously looking at this kit. Does anyone have firsthand knowledge? It appears to have laser engraved wood decorations rather than resin or CNC-routed wood. I am thinking it will be good to have all wood with little plastic or photo-etch, though not much 3D effect. Looking for a unique BIG...

Chinese Plank on Frame (POF) kits

Thanks. Zoltan! Builder Tacc did a great job on the Druid right down to the furniture in the Captain's cabin. I like the semi-open decking so you can look inside the hull. One of these would be great to work on while glue is drying on one of my simpler POB kits. With the wonderful info on...

Chinese Plank on Frame (POF) kits

Has anyone had a look at the Druid or any of the other Chinese POF kits that are in the $500 price range?

    A little setback (not well)

Sorry to hear this. You will be sick again when the bill arrives! It happened to me year a ago and the bill for a Liter of iv fluid, and two pills under the tongue, and the pleasure of being passed out on a cot in the ER for 4 hours, came to $2000. (And for some reason insurance wouldn't cover )
