I don’t have any ideas on lighting to share. I think this is a fairly general representation of a tug so researching similar real tugs might give you some ideas for lighting.

Thanks much for the feedback. This was my favorite build project to date. It’s a big model and finding the right place for it has been, let’s say, a challenge.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. After the Chaperon build I am looking at a smaller non ship project, an Occre cable car kit. No build log but I’ll post pics when done. Happy Holidays and New Year to all.

Not sure if you were using a flat or matte white vs a semi gloss which would shine a bit more. I agree the flat looks more natural. You can also put a coat of poly on it to make it shine a bit more.

With the stacks completed I was able to complete the build this week. This mostly consisted of attaching the life boats, loading platform and all working rigging. Just to keep sharp objects away from yourself while you complete this step.

I used white card stock on the back of the bends and left it there for further support down the line. This worked very well too.
