I can assure you that this is a horn beam. And it has been dyed till its deepest. I have never seen the barbaris wood. It would,be interesting to see. To my point if view the wood is usually chosen within the area of living of a modelist. In my region the pear wood is quite common, in another...

Hallo The learner. Some time ago, I bought a block of painted hornbeam and now I’m slowly using it. Chemical coloring of wood is a rather complicated process, I don’t know how to make it at home. I think it’s better to buy it from the professionals.

Basically, I have finished the longboat. I don’t see the point in further detalisation. There will anyway be a boat on top. I didn’t do the the rudder as well, because I don’t have to install it anyway. All that’s left is to cover it with oil.

Greetings, dear Tobias according to theory and experience, the oil will polymerize after a while, the main thing is to give it some time. I hope to glue it with regular PVA. In any case, I succeeded on "Hyacinth". As a last resort I will use pins. The wood on the boat is black and yellow hornbeam.

Dear Uwek unfortunately, just as I expected, it was not possible to remove the body from the pattern. I made a technological mistake and here is the result. I will have to try again. Meanwhile I am tuning the FET Proxxon circular saw, a gift for the New Year. Some components are very crude and...

The first option will probably goes in the trash tomorrow. The form seems to be sheathed well, but it’s impossible to remove the shell. :confused:Something hasn’t been done fully probably. Apparently I will have to remake the form, and make it from three parts that can be disassembled. Or to...

Dear Johann I think you won’t find anything new for yourself, on the contrary, I studied your report on the construction of the longboat and learned a lot. I also looked at the works of Mikhail Bezverhiy, Aleksei Baranov and other outstanding masters. I’ll try, but I’m not sure that it will work...
