Hello Frederick.
I am enjoying following your build. If it matters to you that little port near the back of the ship (the one comingled with the wales) probably didn't have a gun in it. If memory serves it was mostly used for small deliveries from supply boats and such (a 17th century mailbox). Of course, you are the captain of this build and if you like the gun there then so be it .

That’s a beautiful job Frederick. I used the Billings kit including the hull but planked her with mahogany. My Vasa is a lot darker coloured than yours because of the timber.

What have you used? Is it Obechi?
