I beg to differ Ken; A0 is defined by the ISO 216 international paper size standard, A0 contains 1 square meter of paper, 841 x 1189 = 999,949 sqmm. Is this another measure where US differs from the rest of the world?

I measured it in inches (as my tape measure only had inches) then used the conversion on the computer. The plans say "refer to AO plans". There are three of them. Thanks for your input. Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry Ken, I misunderstood. I thought you were saying A0 was 889x1193mm.
They may just be using it as shorthand for 'the great big unwieldy sheets of plans'!
