Doing this in 1:200 scale - she is gonna be quite big (740ft real life length).
Working with basswood, and was doing the detail of the bottom at the stern for the little bubble where the prop will go. My scale prop is to be about 1-1/4" across. When forming this, I had laid out the profile from the plans I have, but must have misjudged something and realized too late. Keep in mind, I have limited tools (no router as an example in this case) to work with - I do have table saw, band saw, scroll saw even.
I have attached a pic of the real ship, and a profile and bottom view of my work in progress which shows where I am at, as well as a small block of what it should actually be. I am thinking it is best to cut away to incorrect area and somehow graft the correct piece to my ships bottom. My current layout is too low and small.
Any suggestions?
