Airfix A09256V WASA 1:144 Scale ship

Planning my next build , has anyone got any information on the model below ?? Seems it'll be a lot easier than Le Soleil Royal as a lot of parts are already moulded in one piece , ie. the cannons , cannon carriages , masts etc. The decorations on this one are awesome !!

WHEW! Thanks dockattner, for a moment there I was in a panic! haha I'm just about to finish up on my Airfix Vasa, & when I saw the photos of the transom, I thought, "how did he get such FINE detail?" It took me 3 weeks to paint just the transom & galleries, working on them every day! I even got down to using a toothpick for painting! haha Thanks for the photos of the AL Vasa, though, they are beautiful!

Hi Peter and Rick,

The AL Vasa shown in these images is the same model as the former DeAgostini Vasa. It was majestically painted for the manufacturer who then used this work for the instruction manual. Since it was not completed by a hobbyist there is no build log to glean any information from. We must simply sit in awe... though there is a painting guide that I might be able to scrounge up somewhere.

...acrylic paints from Vallejo and careful use of washes (and occasionally dry brushing)...completed under magnification with the tiniest brushes I could find ...just short of 600 individual parts with each part taking in the 2-3 hour range to complete. A true labor of love - and yet it falls short of what is shown above. Alas ...
