That’s amazing work

Very beautiful and realistic models. Thumbsup And what happened in 2008 that the models you built were taken out of service?
In 2008 my family and I moved to another place, a place that needed a total “makeover”. The two ships took up a lot of space with their masts, so I let my son play sea battles with them on the lawn with his 1:72 military figures. He had a wonderful time. The Cutty Sark lost a mast and ended up in the woodshed and through the mast hole a colony of hairy-footed bees evolved inside the hull. The Norske Loeve with all its cannons inspired my kids to cut it in half at the waterline (they made me do it) and use it in a school project about Africa. As you might have noticed from my pictures the models are a bit dusty and the pictures are taken in a bit of haste for my “Introduce Yourself!” I realized from my picture that the roof on Mary Ann had started to come off and in fact all three models needs a final touch and I am still full of ideas to improve them, that way I’m still attached to them. I am the only person here inspired by them it’s my loneliness and my freedom. Let us inspire each other.

“A man can be himself only so long as he is alone; and if he does not love solitude, he will not love freedom; for it is only when he is alone that he is really free.” Quote Arthur Schopenhauer

Ships are great looking work, but the figures on board really add a touch of class.
Thank you so much. I had great fun finding the figures on the internet. To put a “scale” on the model I like to go into “dollhouse mode” here it almost vent into diorama mode. I realized that loading the cargo trader with all the goods I planned, would be too much. The “sails person” in red is 187 cm tall in scale. He and his “good best friend” are from Art Girona. The Fisherman who needs a cap (I’m no artist in any way) has 3 other friends from the kit I bashed (TAMIYA 1:35 Soldiers at rest kit no 3629**300) I bought some wonderful heads from Hornet they are 1:35 whereas the fishing boat is 1:33.

Also from my side a warm welcome here on board of our forum.

You are showing us great and very realistic built models- And the figurines are outstanding _ the viking -> WOW
Hope to see your Le Corerur in a building log - you could easily start with the actual status...

Hallo @Skidbladnir
we wish you all the BEST and a HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Birthday-Cake

BTW: I once more scrolled through you photos - the water of your viking diorama is extremely good
Maybe there is a chance, that you show us once how you did this?

Thank you for your kind words,

Today is my birthday, it’s a special day to my father and me, today we have lived for 150 years, that might just be the first time in the history of my linage. Like my father always says to me to encourage me “It’s never too late to quit” but we are still here.

I’m just happy to live in the age of “laser cut” and “The S.O.S. forum”. I would like to contribute to the “Completed Models Showcase” section as I would like to inspire builders to choose the “I buy a kit and make it mine” To scratch building and modifying the parts I can manage and as I like. I would like to start with my tree finished models, that’s obvious. Years ago I found so much inspiration from a builder called Pirxorbit at “Der Lustige Modellbauer” and I don’t find myself inspiring in that way with a build log. Pictures from your workshop can give you away. Just look here. I went to a wet t-shirt contest to get a wet t-shirt to make this “meatloaf holder” and you also get the impression that I use modified nerd glasses and that I am scratch building part 25a

To Mr. Clint Eastwood, happy birthday Sir I have always admired your work. I don’t know what you are building at the moment I just hope you are part of this forum of wonderful builders.
