Alligator clips

Is there a place you can buy alligator clips that close tight enough to grab a piece of thread. I have a bunch I've collected over the years and some wouldn't grab a piece of No9 wire and others have a bite that would make Paul proud. I'm looking for either a source of good clips or maybe a mod to improve the bite. Braces are out Paul

You can buy toothless alligator clips. I know they sell them on Amazon.

You can also purchase these at a Radio Shack, (if you can still find one) or any electronics supply store. Amazon is still cheaper!
