To answer the question of size, Ford Island in 1/700 is11 feet by 5 and a half feet. There were 8 Battleships, 2 Heavy Cruisers, 6 Light Cruisers, 30 Destroyers. 4 Submarines and whole lot of auxiliary vessels. I already have over 100 ships so far. It will take up about the size of a 2 car garage.
I'll keep everyone posted with photos as I progress. Thanks for the interest.
 
Sounds very interesting and we are all looking forward to see once some photos of this diorama.....
