Arc Gloria - Rigging on Steroids

Great photos! Looks like someone's showing off their knots-manship. I can't imagine even the flat coils being done in normal operation.

The photos of the knots are outstanding!

I’m building the Model Shipways Bluenose so I’ve looked at the superb video of her on Wikipedia (under Career): I’m sure the video is all about some of her races, and there are some good deck shots of her racing.

There are lines all over the deck! Looks pretty haphazard!

I’m sure the lines were even more messy when she was fishing!

Right on!!

I’ve always wondered what the deck looked like back in the day, I try to make these nice little coils of line but on a real working boat I’m sure it’s different!

Thanks for sharing pictures of Beautiful Gloria! Most South American training ships came from the same Spanish shipyard — easy to see the family resemblance:
ARC Gloria - Colombia, BAE Guayas - Ecuador, ARBV Simon Bolivar - Venezuela and ARM Cuauhtemoc.

Indeed, a beautiful ship. The pictures do not quite give credit to the beautiful deck... nice wood and craftmanship.
