Hi, first post and a couple detail questions

I have tried searching here and Google but not finding quite what I am looking for

I am making a digital model of the Armed Virginia Sloop

I have the book Building the Armed Virginia Sloop and have looked at kit instructions and several builds online

First, about the pumps, the book says (for the body) 20 inches high, tall, that seems too short, how would you work it? Second, it shows a wood structure to hold the fulcrum. The iron bands are shown around the log put what holds the fulcrum structure on?

Second, door latches

All the sources for this that I have found show a half loop door handle on the cabin doors and companion way house, but no latch

I would assume there would be a latch and it would have to be of a type that could be operated from inside or out

Interesting questions about the details of the sloop. I hope some specialist will be able to give answer(s) or give hints.
But maybe it would be also helpful to show these details of your digital model, so other could give their opinion or share knowledge - a sketch or drawings is often helpful

The door handle and hinge, in my model so far, are the way they appear in the book, instructions sheets and builds I have found, but it seems like there would be a latch of some sort

I have taken a little artistic license on a couple other areas in this screen shot

The standing guy is to show scale, I know he isn’t very 1800th century

That is a nice drawing, the Danish, upper one with the details, what is that from?

I made the height and diameter of the log using the dimensions given in the book Modeling an Armed Virginia Sloop of 1768 I might have to leave the diameter as is, otherwise I would probably need to remake everything, I will look at it

I hadn’t made the spout yet, I forgot to do it before posting the screen grabs

In the book mentioned above, he says to make the spout a 3” (full size) (7.8 CM) square

What would hold the spout in? just press fit?
 
Thanks! I found similar in metal, the lower on you could also open from the inside if it had a notch through or a shaft on the pivot

But in the end, I sort of ignored this and just copied the ones from the model I was remaking

Maybe at some point I will redo them

I put this aside a few weeks ago, for a break, I want to do a little more with the texture maps and figure out how to do decent water
