Good evening builders,

About 2 years ago, I started building a fishing boat, the Carmen 2, from Artesania Latina. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to make a build log or take photos during the construction, so I only have pictures of the finished result. This is a reasonably easy model in terms of difficulty, although several fit problems did appear.

Of course, I couldn’t resist building this model purely OOB (out of the box), and I went a bit overboard with details and weathering. About a year ago, I also bought a resin 3D printer, and I’ve added quite a few details that I designed and printed myself. A 3D printer really opens up a world of possibilities, though it does take some getting used to. Prints don’t always succeed, and sometimes you need multiple designs and/or attempts to get a good result. Since pictures say more than words, here are the photos:

The first 3 reference photos below are of an "Out of the box" version of the model (not the one I built):

As you may notice, my version isn’t named 'Carmen 2' but M8-NU-EL. This is a cryptic reference to our dog 'Manuel' (Spanish water dog), who unfortunately passed away in January. He often kept me company while building, so I wanted to include a reference to him in this model as well. Notice also the little dog on the deck.

Wishing you all a good evening.

Happy building!

Dirk
