I purchased The Black Pearl (Golden Version 2025). I am to point of installing LED lights. Kit had lights and wiring but kind of cheesy so I ordered 3v led lights with wires attached and new button battery switch. I'm puzzled on how to attach stern lamps to rib no 17? I cannot find base for lanterns in kit? Lantern has hole in bottom to run wires but seems to me base is requires to attach?
Any help is appreciated.

Welcome aboard!

I don't have this model so I am unable to help you with this. I'm sure someone here can. They have been very helpful to me.

Thanks. I cannot find bases for lanterns in kit. There is hole in bottom of lantern to run wires but looks to me that a base is required. Thanks for reply.

Hi
I built this model a few years ago the bases for the lamps are made from there laser cut hexagonal pieces glued together.

See bases bottom right corner and centre. It's a very tight fit to get the castings between the bases, some fitting required.
I hope this helps let me know if you have any other questions also you can check my log for further details.

Here's a link to how I dealt with the lanterns on my build of this ship.

Thanks for link to your build, gives me some ideas on how to proceed. I ordered some pre-wired lights, a two-button switch and pre-wired plugs for lights. I may use some heat shrink tubes to get lights above the two castings on stern.

I drilled two small homes on either side of the centre hole for the LED leads to run through. I cut off a stick pin, put it through the centre hole, and drilled a hole in the stern to push and glue the pin into. I found that there was not enough space on the stern for the two end lanterns because of the Neptune carvings so I placed them slightly forward on the gunwales.
