Bonhomme Richard Barge: Half Hull Model by Don Farr [COMPLETED BUILD]

Hi Everyone, Will be starting this next week, but first a few pictures and comments, I ordered it from the Chinese lady that is hard to pronounce that sells on ebay, the transaction was smooth and received the item in just 10 days, my first coments are THIS the packaging is very poor, very bad saying that i am still satisfied with the kit overall, the other thing is the pieces are very loose on the boards, I had to tape across everything to not loose parts or get them misidentified, the next thing is you have to label each item as the numbers are off the parts, there are 2 pages of instructions pictures only, So far I can understand most of it there are some cloudy areas that i still need to look at

Yes it is Brian, A few things that I am uncertain about, would like members advice, first stains wether to stain frames or leave natural, second there does not see to have a backing for the frames before glueing to the wood, then my orignal thought was to have the picture board with decopauge with some of my nautical items like maps, and ships, i know how to put the decopauge on the first coat, but do not know about second over the prints and wether it will bond to glue, any sugestions. Don

pictures of progress on this one, VERY INTERESTING PROJECT,nice materials and interesting design, need to be VERY CAREFUL IN MARKING PARTS AND THEY ARE SOME WHAT DELICATE,,,IN the pictures you will see the jig built, I have not GLUED IT , the parts fit very tight, so far have not had to glue it should be easy to take apart when needed

Hallo my friend - from this point of view no comments or critics necessary.
Maybe you can show the model next time with some close up photos, in order to see more details of the structure of this interesting model, and also to see more your work, so comments would be easier to make (if requested)

Great work Don. Looks fragile. Only comment I assume your sanding off the darker laser edges, if it is. Hard to tell from photo. I would be very proud of your effort.
