Hi.

I have ended up with a spare copy of Volume 1 of the Fully Framed Model series by David Antscherl. I am lacking Volume 4 - Rigging. If anybody would has a spare copy of that volume and would like to swap, please PM me via the forum.

Volume 4 is more of a brochure/booklet. You should be able to get it cheap from Seawatch Books as a digital download. It's focus, however, is sail-making not a treatise on rigging.
Further to the responses from Paul and Jeff volume IV is 215 pages and has three fold-out plans with running rigging, standing rigging, and beautifully identified belaying points, the last of which is a rarity so well worth the price of buying one from SeaWatch

The booklet that Paul mentions is fantastic as well for making sails using silk span as there is no such thing as cloth or sewing method that will be realistic at our most common scales. Kit makers have a hard enough time making money and one place where they can both improve the product and reduce their costs is with the sails. If they get rid of the burlap like cloth that looks totally unrealistic and supply silks pan, either precut to size or with instructions on how to make them with the material supplied they will improve their bottom line or reduce prices, or a combination of both. They could even write an instruction booklet similar to the one mentioned as it only costs a couple dollars.

Wish I had an extra copy for you but I only have one set which has personal notes that David wrote to me on the opening page of each volume and I treasure them.

I understand entirely. But let's persist, I am sure that someone somewhere has one. Possibly the one that Abe Books USA sold to me awhile back that vanished into the maw of the USPS system never to be seen again. But Abe were very good and refunded me very promptly.

Alan, I emailed Seawatch about the set. I was told that the whole set will be reprinted in early to mid 2025. He said if you order the electronic version now you you will get the hard copy when available. You would just have to pay the shipping cost. I plan to wait until the hard copy books are available and order the whole set.

Thank you Albert. If nothing else turns up, I will order Vol 4 (when reprinted) too. Realistically even if I had started this build last Christmas it would be 2025 before I got as far as rigging.
