Can anyone tell me how much a completed Krick Borkum will weigh. I need to work out how much ballast to get.

G'day the final weight all depends on how you build her and what you include in the build, for example with my build I used a Stuart Turner V10 steam engine machined from brass and cast iron castings, I also used two electric motors plus 6 resin crew and passenger s, all that I needed for ballast were two small 6 volt batteries and she sailed just fine, hope this helps you,

My Borkum "Amélie" weighs 8,5 kg with everything (including the steam engine and boiler) and floats on the KWL (construction waterline).
Weight steam engine and boiler filled: 2,3 kg.

be careful not to go below the center of gravity, test it in water and for ballast I would recommend using lead shot (for cartridges). Also test the speed.
