Thought I might show how the disipline of small scale boat/ship building spills over to other model making disiplines. My son, who is an architect, asked me to help him prepare for an exhibition, the London Build Expo at the Olympia London venue. "I need a model 1:200 scale, scratch built in a few weeks time." As usual, all last minute. I am in the middle of building the Black Pearl, so it has given a break form Chinese. Fortunately these day of instant comunication, I had the scaled plans and drawings within minutes. A sheet of 6mm MDF, Daler board, Foam board and many 3, 4 and 5mm striped wood pieces and away we go. I must say that I did make the occassion and excuse to buy a Proxxon table saw which along with my old trusted band saw saved the day. Some time back I did also make a 1:500 scale for another project he was working on, in many ways that was easier as most of the detail of the building is lost. Ah well back to my Chinese.
