While I've always felt that if G_d had meant man to be on the metric system, there would have been only 10 disciples, I find myself hobbled by the world of feet and inches (Imperial). I have a set of plans in 1:100 scale (metric) and simply cannot get my head wrapped around the conversion of 1:100 to 1/4". Seems to me that we are dealing with 1:100 converted to 1:48. So, by dividing 100/48 I get a factor of 2.083. Therefore, by my logic, the plans would need to be enlarged 2.083x.

Is my math correct?

Hank, here all that you need. instantly, without any hassle convert anything to anything

My suggestion is to work in metric. I grew up in the US and started ship building there but have since moved to the metric world. It really makes more sense--everything's divisible by 10 instead of 8s and 64s.

The only issues I have with metric is I still can't figure out why I'm hot when it's 25 degrees!
