These are not half or shadowbox models. They made from mostly carved in forced perspective low bas relief, using basswood both for hulls and in most cases sails as well as matte board for sails in the case of the "Ann McKim" and "Chasseur". I was inspired by the look of pub and shop signs of the19thc. carved in low bas relief and which were very colorful. I did these and a bunch of others which are on a cd, somewhere in a drawer in my basement workshop. When I find them, I'll post them. A friend dubbed them "Cameo Models" which I thought was appropriate. The Baltimore Clipper "Chasseur" is a work in progress. 20230709_104508.jpg20230712_143957.jpg20230709_103547.jpg20230709_102740 (1).jpg20230709_102442.jpg20230709_104508.jpgprogress.
