Can I give away/pay it forward on excess building items from a build?

Hey all,
Can I give away here any excess building materials that will be left over from my OcCre kit? My Buccaneer kit has a lot of everything from planks, mast rods, decking, hardware, various rigging thread of all gauges and colors, etc. They really over supplied on everything on this kit. Much more so than my older Bluenose kit had. I will of course, keep a small amount of things in case I need to make a repair or so.
Things like cannons or brass decorate accents are right on the money as far as extras are concerned.

If ship modeling is going to be a hobby of yours, for a long time... you'll do well to keep all those 'extra' things for yourself... less you don't mind buying them all over again, at a much higher price, years later when you suddenly find yourself needing them again, for a build that you never anticipated back in the past!

Good advise!
 
The advice to keep any extra material is hands-down the best idea. I am now on my 10th ship model and can tell you that it never fails that I end up going back to my supplies and finding something that I can use on my current build.
 
Keep that stuff for future builds! Always smart to have "spares" box around. I build plastic too and those leftover bits come in handy..
 
No problem and thanks for confirming. I like doing a pay-it-forward on every hobby that I have. like when I build Star Wars Lightsabers, there are always extras.
The outside of the hull is complete, so is the deck. Just finished the cannon ports hinged covers, so my next step is all of the many items that go on the deck levels and then onto the masts. Got so much hull inner and outer planks
 
Thanks for the advice on keeping all the extra. But, the Buccaneer I'm working on has a lot of extras and it will be a long while before I build a new ship.
Still going to post give aways in the near future as I just completed the hull fully and have many wood items that I don't want to create clutter with.
