Hi all,
I'm Alex, a 57 yrs old petty officer -ret.- from Minden, Germany.
From the earliest days of my life I'm into naval history, mainly 17th to early 20th century. I built my first card models at the age of 16 (of course, none of them survived). In between I had some encounters with plastic models but they don't fit my need of creativity (except Revell's USS United States -the small one which looks rather like USS Constitution- and which I modified a little bit). Actually I'm working on some different projects which I'll introduce in further postings.
I'm looking forward to having interesting discussions and exchanging knowledge and fun.
Best regards,

Alex

I was stationed in FRG from72-74-Babenhausen. I'd like to restart card models. Amazon sells some. I am drawn to sailing ships.

@Spars, I recommend Fentens, a German publisher. About sailing ships: the finest are from "Shipyard" but other publishers like Maly Modelarz also have some good stuff. Let me know if I can help.
