As I am working on alteration of the carvings of my Royal Caroline I am searching the internet for nice carving tutorials. Everything I find handy, from basic to more complicated I will post here.
Today to begin with a video from Stumpy Nubs Woodworking Journal about carving basics.

Carving a face is most probably one of the most difficult things. This nice lady is explaning in 2 videos very simple how to carve a face in 8 simple steps. During the process you think where is this going to but in the end you will see you actually create a face.

It is not a video but you might want to consider Bill Short's book about carving. He is on this site too.
