G'day everyone,

My latest purchase is a pair of ceramic tipped tweezers, I bought them off eBay, not very expensive around $10 AU with delivery.

Until I recently watched a You Tube video on resistance soldering I had never heard of resistance soldering or ceramic tipped tweezers, where the presenter demonstrated using ceramic tipped tweezers, the main benefit of these tweezers is there ability to handle high temperatures without wrecking them when soldering.
I liked this idea and after a short eBay search a pair were bought.

When I opened the package and felt the ceramic end it felt almost plasticky, thinking that I have been duped I tested the tweezers using a cigarette lighter to heat it up, noting that there did not seem to be any change and with the assumption it wasn't heating up I tested this by touching the ceramic tip with my finger only to discover it had heated up considerably producing a small burn, ok not the smartest thing to do but at least I found out that the ends are ceramic.... ;)
These should prove to be quite handy when soldering.

Here is a link to the Resistance soldering video, quite amazing.

Cheers,
Stephen.
