In 2013, I started building the model.
Plan drawings of G. Delacroix
Scale 1:36
Wood German Elsbeere

Part 1
Due to insufficient relase agent, my building pleasure
was interrupted un expected, see picture 1.011.

2013 begann ich mit dem Bau des Modelles.
Planzeichnungen von G. Delacroix
Maßstab 1:36
Holzart, deutsche Elsbeere

Part 1
Bedingt durch ungenügendes Trennmittel auf der Malle
wurde meine Baulust unerwartet unterbrochen, siehe Bild 1.011.

Part 2
After countless curses and imprecations freeze and break first was annouced.
New beginning, now in 1:24 scale.
Lack of own lathe made me a model colleague the gun barrel.

Part 2
Nach zahllosen Flüchen und Verwünschungen war zunächst
Baustop und Pause angesagt.
Neubeginn, jetzt im Maßstab 1:24.
Mangels eigener Drehbank machte mir ein Modellbau-Kollege
das Kanonenrohr.

Hallo Karl,
beautiful built - clean, accurate and wonderful timber (I like also the Elsbeere very much).
I understand that the first model in scale 1:36 was partly fixed to the hull form, so you had to destroy it, but what was the reason for changing to 1:24?
Which scale finally would be your advice?
Many Thanks for sharing your time-lapse building log with us Thumbs-Up

Hello Uwe,

the reason for the switching to the 1:24 scale was symply that,
the larger the scale, the easier it is to build the model and details.
My recommendation: scale 1:24
regards

Hallo Uwe,

der Grund für die Umstellung auf den Maßstab 1.24 war einfach der,
je größer der Maßstab, umso einfacher der Bau des Modells und der Details.
Meine Empfehlung: Maßstab 1:24

Grüsse Karl

That is a wonderful model and the details are excellent! I like the presentation board, is that birdseye maple or some sort of figured birch?
The green felt with the brass corners is a nice idea!! Gives it a "noble" look.

Karl, lovely work and great display, very impressive.
Often wondered how these boats behaved when the cannon was fired. I guess most of the recoil was absorbed, would make for a thrilling experience anyway!

@Jeronimo, Karl, I see you went over from 1-36 to 1-24 scale, I also bought the monograph in 1-24, the question is,
Do your drawings of the interior look like in the picture I show, greetings Knut-
