Cinefoil: aluminum foil, but matt black, and much thicker than the kitchen version.
It can be shaped in any form, but is thin enough to give it texture for 'rivets' etc.
We use it in our photo studio to 'shape' light.
Not cheap, but it has many other uses besides modelling, and a roll will last a lifetime;-)
