Starting the Mamoli USS Constitution cross section 1:93.
Want to make the hull with actual frames.
I have calculated the kit hull length at 3.09 inches. And looking at the drawing in Anatomy of a ship it looks like 19+ frames.
Math is not working out.
Can someone who has made this model tell me the finished length of the hull?

I have no ideas the siding of the individual frames, but for arguments sake, if the floors and first futtocks are 14" and there is an inch or so between them, it works.
out. If you do not have the information already you can contact the curatorial staff at the Connie Museum to get the actual siding dimension of the floors to be sure.

Thanks but I have great drawings of the ship. Just looking to confirm the dimensions of the kit so even though I replace the hull the bits from the kit will be to scale.

I've been working on the Model Shipways cross-section version of the USS Constitution in 1/76 scale.
I traced around the original frames in case anything went wrong during the build.

I decided to make the bow piece a built-up frame, glued and tree-nailled just like a real ship.

I used the original kit frame to outline the frame on the rought blank.

The frame is surprisingly strong, despite the lack of cross-frame deck beams.
