Looking for documentation on details for the paint scheme for the Continental Navy cutter Revenge. The ship was purchased in Dunkirk in 1777 and converted to a raider. Is there any information on whether the CN repainted their ships to a common color scheme for their ships or if they used a French or Royal Navy paint job to blend in with the naval cutters operating in the Channel. Are there any contemporary descriptions of Continental Navy ships describing the color to establish a pattern or one of the Revenge in particular?
