After the build of Le Requin that has been an amazing but tough experience, I need a period of rest.
In my mind to rest doesn't mean doing nothing, just doing something different that will require short time efforts.
In this perspective last winter I bought two kits about two little boats, but very very nice and most of all they are "out of the box" as I want to explore different kinds of model ships.
The Dagmar is a steal boat built by english worksites for the russian Imperial Family, and the Leudo is a cabotage boat built by italian worksites for hard family workers: so we have two extremes of nautics.
The kits are both in pearwood and come both from Falconet; it is the first time I work with a russian producer and I'm surprised by the quality of these kits that are also very cheap.
First buid will be the Dagmar, soon I will start to post some images.
Cheers

Building the hull.
Falconet follows a particular method that is very effective and makes the work easier, I love it.
The strips are preformed with high precision and allow to make the hull like it should be made; but as it is expected to be entirely painted and I wanted to highlight the pattern of the stripes I slightly rounded the edges, so as to highlight the caulking.
