Deck planking shifts

Question for others: Is there any proper and/or general consensus on deck planking shifts of an 18th century 1st rate ship of the line?
 
Donald Dressel's book called "Planking Techniques for Model Ship Builders" covers planking of the hull, decks, etc. including tree nail patterns. plank widths for different eras of ship. It is paper back and cheap compared to other modeling books. another that covers thing for various chnages over the centuries is "Historic Ship Models by Mondfeid. These are almost indispensable to any modeler. Filling out the list is Roth's book "Ship Modeling from Stem to Stern" that answers most questions that come up for modelers.

Thanks, Arthur. That's the one that I went with! It's good info and was very helpful!
