I put lots of coats of sapeli on the second planking on the hull i have albatros by occre it's not sticking sanding painting ever 12 hours still not sticking lots of white spots, used half of bottle sapeli what am i doing wrong occre told but few coats still not working, everything came out beautiful this ruined it,,, again any solutions? ps i order some parts the second layer was faded wasn't a full color of sapeli should have been,

what should I do, I can't see any glue spots
Perhaps rubdown with sandpaper if you haven't already.
I noticed when applying the sapeli 2nd planking to my Endurance the glue seeped through as the planking was very thin. I wasn't too worried as I was painting the hull black.
I did make a note to be wary in future if I intend to keep the natural wood finish.
What glue did you use to fix the second planking?
A photo may help if you can.

what is sapeli? i looked it up and see its a type of wood, not a paint.

so what paint or stain are you using?

3. Difficult to Stain

While sepele wood’s natural reddish-brown color looks nice, it can be hard to stain or finish the wood. Because of differences in grain patterns and density in different pieces of sepele wood, getting a consistent finish can be difficult.
Consider using a wood conditioner specific to sapele wood to ensure an even finish. This is especially useful if you notice uneven absorption of the stain or finish or the finish not adhering to the surface during testing on scrap wood.

I heard magic eraser to get the glue spots off ,I used gorilla natural wood glue

This older thread may help.

I experienced the same problem as Ancientmodeller that when I first started the 2nd planking of the Polaris (Occre) the glue (CA) would seep or wick through the wood grain (sapeli). I switched to using white PVA and finished the hull with stain without any issues. Because of the thinness of the planking materials, you don't have much surface to sand off. Perhaps, if possible, replace the affected planks, or if it is possible, consider painting the hull.

Coats of Sapelli? Are we talking about a stain? Sapelli is a wood similar to mahogany. What wood type are you trying to stain?
Maybe try the stain on a little scrap first. Try first wiping the substrate with acetone. Or better yet, use a pre-stain conditioner. Screenshot_20250126-075050_Chrome.jpg

to me it reads as sapeli as some sort of finish applied to the hull

That's why it is also confusing to me.....

Thanks for the info. This would explain something I noticed when I varnished a piece of Sapele. There were distinct light and darker areas.

This wood can be a difficult species to work with as it tends to be brittle and open grained compared to pear, maple, box, castello, Alaskan cedar and even softer wood like basswood or poplar. I realize it is cheaper than some of these others by comparison so it affects profit margins. That said, the color of the wood is in itself popular with many model builders so why stain it at all? A coating of clear poly or varnish with a matte (not gloss) finish would be appropriate if the hull is properly sanded to remove glue spots, etc.
