Hello, I wanted to leave you a reference to a new book that has just been published on Spanish naval architecture and construction in the 18th century. I know the authors and they have kindly provided me with the cover of one of the volumes (there are 2 volumes) as well as the indexes of the work to share with you.
In total there are almost 1200 pages of information obtained from original manuscripts where a lot of data is provided on the masts, sails and measurements of ships, frigates, etc.
I have been able to see the work and I don´t know of any other work published so far that provides so much information. I think it is very interesting.
The link to the bookstore is: https://www.nauticarobinson.com/lib...a-construccion-de-navios-2-vol/2000000610917/

Hi , I have these volumes that cover more or less the same topics , titles “ Los galeones españoles del siglo XVII I and II volume. Frank

Hello, yes, it is true, there is a work on the galleons of the 17th century, done by Spanish authors with whom I have dealt on occasion. Very good work, by the way. In line with what you mention, it is true that in the naval construction of the 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th centuries there are common issues in naval construction, such as wood and iron. Now, if with the work on the construction of the 17th century, it is useful to you and can give you solutions with the architecture and naval construction of the 18th and early 19th centuries, perfect, you will get a good return on the work on the galleons.

Greetings.

Hello, first of all, thank you for your greeting. I understand that your question is about the translation of the book. As far as I know, there are no plans to translate the book into other languages. The authors do not have the means to carry out this task.
