Hi there, been away from forum for a while . was working to finish my SIRIUS. when finished I started building a 1:50 scale of the Bounty, basicaly simle wooden block hull. but the scale is terible to make rigging. added at least the spar hoists.
So now continuing on the Etoile that i started 10 years ago. had hull done and some cabins.
now working on rigging masts and beams.attached some pictures of the bounty here. wil put pictures of the Etoile in next tread20260401_162744(0).jpg20260401_162816.jpg20260402_115255.jpg20260402_115308.jpg20260402_115944.jpg20260401_162744(0).jpg

some pictures as i progress.
Did not have the anchor winch (is in fittings kit which i do not have )so made it from scratch.
for the beams i made it look like original for the bindings do not just want to coil the rope around them20260403_145000.jpg20260403_145014.jpg20260407_121849.jpg20260408_093313.jpg20260408_093316.jpg20260408_093320.jpg20260408_093330.jpg20260408_093334.jpg20260408_093805.jpg

Ha! I just bought this vintage Billings model in an estate sale and will probably be doing it as my next build! Hull work looks really nicely done. I will definitely be following to see how it turns out.

I have always enjoyed Billings kit builds. Some elitists look down their noses at the brand and I admit in some ways they're not all absolute top tier offerings but diligent application of modeling skills can yield a display to be proud of...as you are demonstrating so nicely here with the Etoile.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi again. I noticed that you have posted the build in the scratch or from plans section, it would be better to post it in the kits from wood section which is where the majority of builds are posted and there will be more people picking up on your build.
