Just an idea.
This isn't something that I have tried.
If your kit is cut proper, why not dry fit everything (false keel, bulkheads, false decks, ect) together. Then hit all the joints with a syringe filled with diluted PVA to soak into the wood. Shouldn't everything be squared up?
Of course if it didn't one could take everything apart and start over before gluing.

That is what I do. basically.
If this is the case, I don't see the need for a slip or a building board. After you have the keel and bulkheads all lined up just glue it up and after the glue sets recheck to make sure everything is square and strieght.

this will even take out a warp of the false keel. However, it will not work with all kits and you need to evaluate the kit.
You also need to have a very good fit of the parts.
