My mom recently picked this up for me up in Michigan, since I live in Florida, it will be a few months before I can pick it up. Based on the detail, I'm assuming it's made from a kit. It's made of wood and very big. I plan on restoring it and was told it was the USS Enterprise CV 6. If it was a kit, any information would be great. I'll be going through the forum on tips on painting and restoring it. Really looking forward to getting my hands on it.

I am just guessing here... by the looks of the aircraft and crude details, I believe this to be a scratch built effort. I am not aware of a kit maker who has the CV6 Enterprise in wood at that large a scale. Looks to be about 1:200 scale. There are quite a few errors in the hull lines and superstructure. If this is your first model you might be better off starting with a low cost kit from the beginning. Attempting to restore this model would be an extreme challenge even for an expert. It doesn't look to me as if it was ever finished in the first place.

Just my 2 cents... In any case.. good luck and have fun!!!
