And now I continue on the front bulkhead. Complex because many parts are plugged into each other and several floors are connected to each other. I looked at the plans very carefully to understand the structure. I started with the bottom beam that supports the whole bulkhead. I had to measure and try out the exact position of the beam first. Grinding the beam on the sides so that it fits exactly on the ship's side also takes time.

Great work,. Curious about the work you're doing at the bow now. Is it because of the design you had to wait until this far along in the build to finish that bow area ??
 
Hi,
Small winches will be installed in the small notches. I waited so long with this bulkhead because you need a finished second canon deck to build the bulkhead above the deck. And the bow mast has to be set before, otherwise you don’t know if the bow mast sits properly under the bulkhead.

New pictures from the bulkhead. The brass rollers are now installed in the horizontal beams. The top railing is integrated. And a new small deck ahead of the bulkhead was planked. Then I exchanged the old wooden tiller for brass. The wooden one broke in the meantime and I glued it together. The next time I bump into it, it might break again, made of brass it will last 100 years and longer. And the tiller is again 100% able to work: Turning the rudder, it moves. And vice versa.

I'm just catching up on your build log. Wonderful work on a very complex build. I find it very helpful as I will be starting my Le Fleuron late this year. I'm quite sure I will be looking back at your work many times to gain insight.
