Sometimes the best additions to a collection happen when you’re not looking for them.

Yesterday morning I was out walking the dogs and noticed a neighborhood garage sale. Buried among boxes of household items were three wooden ship model, two Chesapeake Bay Flatties and one kit that immediately caught my attention… A Sergal Cutty Sark.

After looking through the boxes, I realized it wasn’t a partially started project or someone’s leftover parts. The kit is complete, unopened, and every part is still sealed in its original plastic packaging. The asking price? $25 for all three kits. Absolutely unbelievable and never have I paid from something so quickly. The walk home was a bit of a challenge but well worth it in my opinion.

For now, my focus remains on finishing the Graupner Adler von Lübeck but it’s hard not to get excited knowing that a Sergal Cutty Sark is now waiting patiently on the shelf for its day to come.
